DEFENSIL^®-PURE ECO

DEFENSIL^®-PURE ECO is a water-based, fermented millet extract that is produced in very much the same way as sourdough bread. Designed for especially dry skin, it hydrates and strengthens the skin barrier immediately. It is suitable for use on atopic skin and promotes a healthy skin microbiota.

Dry and atopic skin suffers constantly from physical damage and a weakened skin barrier. This opens the door for bacteria entering deeper layers of the stratum corneum that can cause adverse inflammatory reactions by activating the inflammasome. Persistently inflamed, dry skin and rashes are the consequences. 

Clinical studies have shown that DEFENSIL^®-PURE ECO protects dry and atopic skin against further damage and quickly reseals the skin barrier. It effectively rehydrates dry skin and improves the appearance of skin.

In-vitro studies have demonstrated that the postbiotic ingredients of DEFENSIL^®-PURE ECO are able to effectively inhibit the activation of the inflammasome. DEFENSIL^®-PURE ECO acts as a prebiotic by promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria on the skin surface and has the potential to displace undesirable microorganisms. A healthy microbiota keeps the host’s skin in good shape and ensures it maintains a proper balance. An analysis of the fermented millet extract showed that fermentation results in a greater release of important minerals compared to plain millet extract.
