PERFELINE^®-ESSENCE

PERFELINE^®-ESSENCE is obtained from Helichrysum italicum syn. angustifolium by CO₂-extraction. It contains ω6 fatty acids, known to play an important role in skin homeostasis and wound healing as well as skin barrier protection. The essential oil fraction, which gives the oriental curry- like odour, is also known to have powerful wound healing effects on hematomas and scars. We use this special oil- based combination as an outstanding stretch marks active ingredient tested on pregnant women.

Tissue stretching, such as occurs during pregnancy, rapid growth during puberty or rapid muscle expansion, is the main cause of stretch marks. A lot of tension is built up that cannot be supported by the dermal and epidermal tissues. Tissue rupture is the result, leading to the formation of stretch marks. In order to prevent or reduce stretch marks, the skin must be both firm and elastic and be able to cope with the expansion caused by underlying tissues.

Clinical studies on pregnant women have shown that PERFELINE^®-ESSENCE prevents the formation of stretch marks and reduces the length and depth of incipient stretch marks by up to an order of magnitude compared to placebo. It keeps skin smooth, firm and elastic.

In-vitro studies have shown that PERFELINE^®-ESSENCE supports epidermal homeostasis and lateral proliferation of basal layer keratinocytes. This helps to alleviate the tension on the epidermis caused by the expansion of the underlying tissue.
