AQUARICH^®

AQUARICH^® is a moisturising active ingredient which contains free amino acids, proteins, polysaccharides from one of the most ancient oats in Europe, black oat (Avena strigosa) and soy-based lecithin, a phosphatidylcholine. This intelligent blend of natural water-retaining substances, proteins and amino acids improves skin hydration.

Dry skin is often transient and can occur for a variety of reasons such as hot or cold weather and frequent use of hand sanitiser. However, sometimes it can also be a lifelong problem. It is an uncomfortable condition marked by scaling, itching and in severe cases even skin cracking. Proper care of dehydrated skin with an effective moisturising cosmetic active ingredient is thus very important. Since water is constantly evaporating through the epidermis, it is particularly important to maintain the moisture level there. AQUARICH^® maintains epidermal moisture in two sophisticated ways: hygroscopic substances from the black oats reinforce the skin’s own natural moisturising factor (NMF) and replenish the skin’s own water store in the epidermis. Plant-based lecithin obtained from soybean stabilises the lamellar lipid matrix of the epidermis by means of its valuable ingredients. The transepidermal water loss is reduced and the skin is better protected against evaporation.

Clinical studies have shown that AQUARICH^® enhanced skin hydration in the entire epidermis over a period of 24 h and that it has better moisturising effects than glycerin or hyaluronic acid.
